Questions to ask before hiring a house cleaner in Reno
A short list of questions that tell you what you are actually getting, before anyone walks through your door.
Why ask questions at all?
Letting someone into your home is a big decision. A few direct questions up front tell you whether a cleaner is a good fit, and avoid surprises on the first visit or the first bill. A good cleaner will be happy to answer all of them.
About who cleans
- Who will actually clean my home? Some businesses send a rotating crew; others are one person.
- Will it be the same person each visit? Consistency means they learn your home and your preferences.
- How much experience do you have?
About the work
- What exactly is included in a regular clean? In a deep clean? Get the list. "Bathrooms" can mean a quick wipe or a full scrub. Our guide to deep vs regular cleaning covers the usual differences.
- What is extra? Inside the fridge, inside the oven and interior windows are often add-ons.
- Do you help with decluttering or organizing? Not every cleaner does.
- Do you bring your own supplies and equipment? And if you have products you prefer, will they use them?
About price and payment
- How is the price worked out? By the hour, by the visit, or after seeing the home? See how house cleaning estimates work.
- Will I know the price before any work starts?
- How do I pay, and when?
- What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
About trust and protection
- Are you insured? Ask what the insurance covers, and ask to see proof.
- Where can I read reviews or recommendations?
- How do you handle keys or access codes?
- What happens if I'm not happy with something?
